Movie: Potugadu
Potugadu is a remake of Kannada super hit film “Govindaya Namaha” and it is a romantic comedy entertainer movie in which Rock Star Manchu Manoj Kumar, four debut beauties Sakshi Chowdhary, Simran Kaur Mundi, Rachel and Anupriya are playing the main lead roles. The director made the story of “Potugadu” as usual to the original version “Govindaya Namaha” but he made some changes in “Potugadu” to add the Telugu flavour to the script.

Story Line:
The movie begins with Govinda’s (Manchu Manoj) wish to commit suicide. He comes to an under-construction skyscraper where he meet another man Venkat (Posani)  who was in the news a several months ago for threatening to jump from a theatre. The latter too wants to end his life following an unsuccessful love. The duo decides to exchange their stories before killing themselves. It is now revealed that Govinda(Manoj) is a rogue and he has a dishonest person. He has cheated three girls one after the other. Firstly, in his native place, he makes a rich girl Vaidehi(Simran)  to fall in love with him. But her father opposes their marriage. However, Govinda’s (Manoj) grandfather Chandra Mohan comes to his rescue by giving his grandson Rs 1 lakh. He asks him to elope with her and settle in Hyderabad. The wicked boy escapes from the place alone and decides to enjoy his life with that amount. Later, Govinda’s(Manoj) second love Mumtaz(Sakshi) a muslim girl. Meets her accidently after he saves her father, Mumtaz accepts his love starts. Govinda(Manoj) is not in control and is talking whatever is coming to his mind, Second love ends with a twist. A new English girl Stacy (Rachel) appears, Govinda’s(Manoj) third love starts, breaks Stacy's engagement and loving his innocence Stacy accepts him. But Govinda (Manoj) leaves her. Next Govinda’s(Manoj) fourth lover story with Mary(Priya) starts, Govinda (Manoj) truly feel in love with her. But why he wants to commit suicide and what happens to his love story? What is the twist in the story?  This needs to be watched on big screens only.

Actors Performances:

Manoj has done one-man show. His comic acts and his body language are very impressive. His wonderful performance backed with excellent dialogues are the strength of “Potugadu”. The four debut actress Sakshi Chowdhary, Simran Kaur Mundi, Rachel and Anupriya did their best.  Ali, Posani Murali Krishna and many actors delivered their best.

Cerdits:

Director Pavan Wadeyar who is also the director for Original script “Govindaya Namaha” does not missed the originality in the script and but he added some Telugu flavour to the script. The punch dialogues and one-liners were outstanding. Even though this the Pavan Wadeyar debut venture in Tollywood  has delivered a brilliant comedy and joins the band of young directors for his brilliant script and narration which keeps you in good humour from beginning to end. In his two-hour screenplay he narrated the life of two persons who are getting ready for suicide, sharing their love stories was dealt it in a comedy and enthusiastic way. Even though the second half of the film is bit slow but director doesn’t missed the track.Sakshi Chowdhary, Simran Kaur Mundi, Rachel and Anupriya added glamour to the film.

Technical Values:

Production values are good. Cinematography of Srikanth is ok. Editing of M. R. Varmaa could have been far better. Music is awesome.

Draw Backs:
Second half of the Film runs in slow pace where audience felt bit boring with story narration in second half.
Results:
 Watchable Movie
